In order to elucidate clinical and laboratory findings of the iron deficiency anemia(IDA) in
childhood along with diagnostic significance of serum ferritin, 207 patients were analyzed retrospec-
tively, who were hospitalized at Department of Pediatrics, Kyung Hee University Hospital from
January 1981 to December 1986.

This investigational work-ups were studied in 303 cases of anemia including 45 cases of severe
degree anemia retrospectively among total inpatients of 3387 in the Department of Pediatrics, Kyung

Forty four children with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) were analyzed retrospectively
and the following prognostic factors were obtained in response to treatments and clinical courses.
And 73.5% of all cases were recovered within 6 months after onset (acute ITP). The patients who

We experienced two cases of staphylococcal infective endocarditis. The echocardiograms showed vegetations at the posterior leaflet of mitral valve and pulmonary arterial end of PDA, respectively. The serial two-dimensional echocardiograms revealed the fate of these vegetations on prolonged antimicrobial therapy. Also we reviewed the literatures.
